Harvest Moon Game Genie Cheat Codes
At the harvest festival, put a fish in the stew to get a berry of the Power Tree. At the very beginning of the game, right after Ellen leaves, quickly make your way to the shed. Take the hammer, run, and avoid all obstacles to the chicken statue in the cross section. Smash the statue.

I second this request... It's really difficult to find codes for some games but there are Action Replay/Gameshark/Codebreaker codes available for almost all games. And yes, I tend to enhance my gaming experience by cheating, mainly to avoid mindless grinding involved in most games I play.

Mednafen has this already... press alt + c Handles gameshark/codebreaker/action replay/ type codes and game genie alt + t to toggle codes on and off... I have never let my schooling interfere with my education. -- Mark Twain

Really? Perhaps you would like to guide me step by step in how exactly to do this in GameBoyAdvance games... I seem to be able to see and enter only Memory Address cheats. (Sorry for the sarcasm, I'm in a pretty bad mood today.)

Most codes are encrypted, and those that aren't still need to be translated. And mednafen has no way to activate a code only when a button is pressed (A very common type of code).

These codes just change values in memory. For gba, I've been playing harvest moon friends of mineral town (I miss some of the bugs from back to nature, but still fun so far) Anyway, I found some Codebreaker codes at gamefaqs... Step 1 alt + c Step 2 press 2 (Add new cheats) Step 3 Press 1 (Add cheat) Step 4 Enter your cc code Example: A cc code was 320025EB 0078: Stop Time In mednafen, I entered it as address (make sure to enter the $) $320025eb byte length 2 value (for hexadecimal add an h like so) 78h didn't change the little/endian setting (just hit enter/N) and then Y to add to cheat Step 5 alt + c to get out the cheat menu alt + t Toggles the code on off any time. Anyway I like to find my own cheats, turns out time also worked at this offset $020025eb 00 (minutes) $020025ea 00 would be the hours So it varies a little due to byte length (2?) and the offset? Anyway, I don't know if it's universal, but maybe it's time we post some of our mednafen cht files...? Hope this helps you out. edit: Oh yeah, you can add it manually to the mednafen cheat file. Open up ~/.mednafen/cheats/gba.cht. For my example it would look like this R A 2 L 0 320025eb 0078 Pretty much the same formatting as the original code breaker. P.S. Ok I tested out a few more codebreaker codes, works perfectly with mednafen and harvest moon. If this little how-to is helpful, mednafen devs, feel free to just take it and use it on the site (whatever license you guys/gals want.) Yeah, yeah, I know that -- I'm just wondering how one can input encrypted codes (PAR/Gameshark) which are usually much more useful.

I see... For nes, in the cheat menu there are options for add PAR and Game Genie codes, in addition to the memory search ones... To be honest I have 3 gba roms, so I can't really help much here. I just found the topic so vague. Since mednafen offers cheat support for these codes (depends on the platform.) I don't know if there is some sort of converter floating around, or if someone wants to show how to input these 'encrypted' codes. I don't quite follow, as the only PAR codes I've made are in ZSNES... Any examples/explanations of the format?I have never let my schooling interfere with my education. -- Mark Twain
